YeneHealth (YH) is the first femtech startup in Ethiopia that is unlocking the digital door for sexual and reproductive healthcare services for women. We are on a mission to put power back into the hands of African women by leveraging artificial intelligence and data on a web and mobile application.

Our culturally-responsive digital solution allows women to confidentially and confidently access a library of health information, connect with a trusted marketplace of providers, shop in our e-pharmacy with discreet delivery, and utilize various personalized features like period tracking, pregnancy monitoring, and medicine usage tracking.

We have built a multilingual and innovative app that is designed to address the massive challenges and unmet needs around family planning and maternal health across Sub-Saharan Africa. Position Overview

YeneHealth is seeking a skilled and passionate Frontend Developer to own, scale, and elevate our web ecosystem. In this role, you will be responsible for the user-facing interfaces that power our business, including our main public site (yenehealth.com), our internal Content Management System (CMS), and our Providers Portal.

You will work closely with our mobile, backend, and product design teams to build highly responsive, performant, and beautifully crafted interfaces. A strong eye for design, detail, and the ability to collaborate or work with Figma mockups is highly valued in this role.

Key Responsibilities

1. Web Portal Development: Architect, develop, and maintain high-performance frontend applications including yenehealth.com, our Healthcare Providers Portal, and our administrative CMS.
2. UI/UX & Figma Collaboration: Translate high-fidelity Figma designs into pixel-perfect, responsive web interfaces, contributing to the UI/UX design process where applicable.
3. Component-Driven Architecture: Build reusable, modular UI components and libraries utilizing modern design systems (Ant Design) and utility CSS (TailwindCSS).
4. API Integration: Integrate frontend applications with RESTful APIs, Firebase Authentication, and Firestore databases.
5. Performance & SEO Optimization: Keep our web properties fast and search-engine optimized (SEO) by leveraging best practices, modern asset bundling (Vite), and sitemap structures.
6. Testing & Quality Assurance: Write clean, maintainable, and testable code; perform device and browser testing to ensure visual consistency and high-quality deliverables.
7. Agile Collaboration: Participate actively in Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, and code reviews to foster continuous team improvement.

4. Styling: TailwindCSS, PostCSS, Custom Vanilla CSS
5. UI Libraries: Ant Design (antd & antd-mobile)
6. State Management: Redux Toolkit (Redux Thunk) & SWR
7. Backend Integration: Firebase (Auth, Firestore, Hosting) & RESTful Node.js APIs
8. Design & Prototyping: Figma

Qualifications

1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
2. Experience: 3+ years of professional web development experience specializing in React.js and TypeScript.
3. UI/UX Design: Solid understanding of user-centered design principles with hands-on proficiency in Figma (creating/interpreting user flows, wireframes, and prototypes).
4. Styling: Strong command of utility CSS (TailwindCSS) and responsive web layout techniques (Flexbox, Grid).
5. State & Data: Solid understanding of state management patterns using Redux Toolkit or similar libraries.
6. Tooling & Workflows: Proficient with Git version control, package managers (npm), and modern build pipelines.
7. Soft Skills: Strong collaboration and communication skills, a startup mindset, and a passion for femtech and health equity.
8. Languages: Fluency in English.

Compensation

1. Payment: Salary is based on market rates in the country of operation (Ethiopia) and will be determined upon a successful interview process.
